I know we hate to think about the autumn drawing ever nearer especially when it feels like our summer never really got off the ground but like it or not it’s time to start thinking about our wardrobes making that transition from summer to autumn.  If there’s one thing you can count on to help you make the transition it’s the trusty jacket.  Where would we be in Ireland without our basic cover up.  There are a few jacket styles that are really popular at the moment and we’ve got a great selection here in the centre no matter what jacket tribe you belong to.

First up is the kimono jacket which proved to be one of the most popular year round cover ups a few years back and which is still one of our favourite jackets to wear.  The kimono jacket can be dressed up or down and is a great one for layering.  I love this velvety beauty from Vero Moda which looks great styled over black dungarees or which would be perfect over a simple LBD for those autumn parties.

If you’re looking to dress down an outfit and give it a cool edge then you won’t go wrong with a trusty denim jacket.  Wear it all summer long over flippy summer dresses and layer over light weight knits and chinos when it get’s a little cooler.  Just add a scarf to make it extra cosy.  Again Vero Moda has a great range of denim jackets and shirts.  Leather jackets are also a total wardrobe staple that everyone should have.  At the moment I’m really loving coloured leather jackets as a fun way to add a different look to my outfits.  A leather jacket will quite literally go with everything and looks good for both day and night.  There is a fantastic range of faux leather jackets in both New Look and Vero Moda that won’t break the bank.

Finally I am still completely crushing on bomber jackets and thankfully they are here to stay for A/W 16 with New Look and Quiz carrying some gorgeous ones featuring everything from florals to luxe suedette fabrics.  These handy jackets look great worn casually or for a cool night time look.

Now is the time to make the investment and start building your jacket collection, just add layers to take your look from summer to autumn!
