Here’s part two of our guest blog from the lovely Louise from Fitness Fashion Mom.  Louise who is a regular around the centre shows us how to dress for that special event and talks us through her top occasion wear looks from Douglas Court.

When it comes to shopping for a wedding or special event the stress can bring any sane woman to the brink of despair. Trying to find something to suit your body shape, being in between seasons AND finding something that no-one else will have on them can be your worst nightmare! Never fear, Douglas Court Shopping Centre will have your back. There are lots of affordable options for all tastes and occasions. It is the first place I look when I’m shopping for an occasion as I know I will find everything I need under one roof.  No traipsing around town in the rain and the parking is free! You can find your dress or separates, accessories, shoes and even pop to Dunnes for that all important control underwear!! Come on girls, we all wear them!

Once you have your outfit you can even call into Peter Marks to get a new ‘do’ or Sam McCauleys for your make-up and other beauty treatments so you can head to your event feeling as fabulous as you look! Anyway, I’ve gotten distracted. Let us get back to the clothes.
Quiz Clothing is a new arrival to the centre. They have stunning gowns for Debs wear as well as lots of casual pieces for you to indulge in. For the purpose of this article I chose two of my favourite looks for any weddings you have coming up. The first is this Jumpsuit. Dare to be different and rock a jumpsuit to your next wedding. Pair it with a pair of red heels, a red lip and a cream hat tipped to one side.

I you aren’t feeling that brave and want something girly then I picked this dress in Quiz which would be perfect for you. It is super pretty and best of all it is on sale!! Grab a bargain while you can.

If it is all out glam you are after then I personally can’t recommend a trip to Verso enough. Lisa and her team will help you find something very special. If it is a debs or red carpet event they will even tell you if someone is already wearing that particular piece. Shopping in Verso is an experience and so personal. A gem hidden in Douglas Court shopping Centre! First up we have this divine Virgos Lounge dress (I made Emma buy this after our shoot). This particular dress is on sale and a bargain. Bardot is set to continue into Autumn as a trend and I personally love it.

Nude will never go out of fashion. It goes with everything. This blush, lace number is so flattering and will last you into next summer. A great piece to have in your wardrobe.

With lace continuing as a trend, why not add a pop of colour with this stunning coral dress? Its very flattering on a larger bust and the ruffling is great for skimming over the tummy. I tried this on too and its Mom Body approved!

Last and not least, let your inner Rock chick loose with this super fun tutu number. I LOVE this dress. It’s on my wish list and I’m going to edge it up with a killer pair of bright heels and chunky gold jewellery. Throw a leather jacket over it and a pair of cons for a more casual look for a cocktail date.

You will always need a clutch that will match everything and this gold one from New Look fits the bill.

Finally, if you are like me and heels KILL you, I have good news. Block heels are all you will need for the coming season. If you missed the glittery numbers from my last post then take a look at these options from New Look. I love the Black with gold edging and the grey. The only shoes you will need I promise.

Remember:
Dress for yourself and nobody else.
Be comfortable. There is no point going for the latest trend if you are going to be tugging at that skirt all night.
Keep your shoulders down and your chin up. You look amazing.
Don’t let anyone near you with a camera after midnight (thank you Facebook for those drunken memories I’d rather forget).
Most of all, have fun!! Life is far too short.
I hope you enjoyed my posts for Douglas Court Shopping Centre. In such a competitive world we really must make an effort to support local business and this one is a beauty.
Louise x
